Monkey Nuts as they’re also known are frequently found in parrot mixes and can be fed on their own, or by hand as a treat or for training. A favourite of Squirrels and other small animals, peanuts in shells not only act as a high protein food but also a boredom breaker for caged pets.

Why Are They Called Monkey Nuts?
The name originally comes from a time when raw peanuts in shells were a popular food of choice to feed monkeys in zoos. Zookeepers coined the nickname and the name has stuck around ever since.
